Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) menyatakan vaksin campak rubella atau Measles Rubella (MR) belum teruji kehalalannya. Ketua Komisi Dakwah MUI KH Cholil Nafis menjelaskan, hingga saat ini vaksin MR belum didaftarkan untuk proses sertifikasi halal.
“Sampai saat ini vaksin MR belum didaftarkan untuk proses sertifikasi halal. Apabila ada pemerintah yang menyatakan bahwa vaksin MR sudah dinyatakan halal atau dibolehkan penggunaannya oleh MUI, maka hal itu adalah pernyataan yang tidak benar dan masuk dalam kategori kebohongan publik,” ucap Cholil, dalam keterangannya, Rabu (1/8).
Cholil menjelaskan, imunisasi merupakan bagian dari upaya pengobatan yang diwajibkan oleh agama Islam. Namun, Islam juga mewajibkan obat-obatan yang digunakan harus halal.
“Oleh karena itu, kepastian kehalalan vaksin MR sebelum dilakukan imunisasi merupakan bagian dari keimanan dan keyakinan umat Islam, yang harus dilindungi sesuai UUD 1945,” lanjutnya.
Cholil mengatakan, MUI siap membantu Kementerian Kesehatan untuk menyukseskan program imunisasi tersebut.
“MUI menyatakan kesiapan untuk membantu Kementerian Kesehatan mencari solusi demi suksesnya pelaksanaan Gerakan Nasional Imunisasi MR yang bersesuaian dengan ketentuan ajaran Islam,” tutur Cholis.
Penjelasan MUI soal kehalalan vaksin MR itu tertuang dalam surat yang dikirim MUI kepada Menteri Kesehatan Nila F. Moeloek. Surat itu dikirim pada 25 Juli 2018, dan ditandatangani oleh Ketua Umum MUI Ma’ruf Amin.
Surat itu dikirim MUI untuk meluruskan isu yang beredar, yang menyebut MUI sudah memberi sertifikasi halal terhadap vaksin MR. (kumparan)
